【 摘 要 】

Boosting convergence and sharedprosperity in the European Union achieved renewed urgencyafter the global financial crisis of 2008. This paperassesses the role of agriculture and the Common AgriculturalProgram in achieving this. The paper sheds light on therelationship between poverty and agriculture as part of theprocess of structural transformation. It positions eachmember country on the path toward a successful structuraltransformation. The paper then evaluates at the regionallevel where the Common Agricultural Program funding tends togo, poverty-wise, within each country. This approach enablesmaking more informed policy recommendations on the currentstate of the Common Agricultural Program funding, as well asevaluating the role of agriculture as a driver of sharedprosperity. The analysis performed throughout the paper usesa combination of data sources at several spatial levels.
