This report is one of six gender andinvestment climate reform assessments undertaken in sixPacific nations including Papua New Guinea. The reportanalyses gender-based investment climate barriers whichconstrain private sector development and identifiessolutions to address them. Four key investment climate areasare considered: public private dialogue; starting andlicensing a business; access to justice, the courts, andalternative dispute resolution; and access to, andenforcement of, rights over registered land. In each areathe report considers legal, regulatory, and administrativebarriers to private sector development with a genderperspective. It makes recommendations aimed at ensuring thatwomen benefit from ongoing efforts to improve Papua NewGuinea’s investment climate on the same basis as their malecounterparts.
