This report is one of six gender andinvestment climate reform assessments undertaken in sixPacific nations including Solomon Islands. The reportanalyses gender-based investment climate barriers whichconstrain private sector development and identifiessolutions to address them. Four key investment climate areasare considered: public private dialogue; starting andlicensing a business; access to justice, the courts andmediation; and access to and enforcement of rights overregistered land. In each area the report considers legal,regulatory, and administrative barriers to private sectordevelopment with a gender perspective. It makesrecommendations aimed at ensuring that women benefit fromongoing efforts to improve Solomon Islands’ investmentclimate on the same basis as their male counterparts.
