The Government of Tanzania is committedto supporting women entrepreneurs with both policy andpractical support. The Government of Tanzania has madeimpressive strides in supporting women entrepreneurs, andits policies reflect a commitment to advancing women. TheMinistry of Industry, Trade, and Marketing, whichcommissioned this report, has established specialinitiatives to reach out to women, and government supportedorganizations such as the Small Industries DevelopmentOrganization (SIDO) have been working to empower womenentrepreneurs through training and access to credit. Onecrucial recommendation is to improve women's access tofinance by encouraging existing commercial banks toestablish gender-sensitive programs and lines of credit forwomen entrepreneurs. To improve women's access totrade, the report recommends implementing gender analysis inthe formulation of trade and economic growth policies, andproviding training for women entrepreneurs on internationalbuyer requirements and other relevant information, tofacilitate their exports to international markets.
