Infrastructure is the backbone of everyeconomy. It delivers basic services critical to sustainableeconomic growth, improved living standards, and sharedprosperity. The traditional role of financing and operatinginfrastructure projects has been shaken up in recent decadesby the emergence of Public-Private Partnerships. Designedand implemented correctly, these partnerships can bringgreater efficiency and sustainability to the provision ofpublic services such as water and sanitation, electricpower, transport, and telecommunications.
