【 摘 要 】

Gelonin inhibits protein synthesis by inactivating the eukaryotic 60 S ribosomal subunit by an unknown mechanism. The protein was purified in high yield by a new method using Cibacron blue F₃GA-Sepharose. Chemical modification studies reveal that arginine residues are essential for biological activity.
