【 摘 要 】

The antibacterial activity of the methanolic and n-hexane extracts ofFagonia creticaL., Peganum harmalaL., Tribulus terrestrisL., Chrozophora tinctoria(L.) RafandRicinus communisL.,were investigated againstStaphylococcus aureus,Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniandSalmonella typhi.Phytochemical screening of the methanolic extract ofF. cretica, P. harmalaandC. tinctoriarevealed the presence of saponins, phlobatannins, anthraquinones and alkaloids. Tannins and flavonoids were found inC. tinctoriaandR. communis. Glycosides were found inF. creticaandP. harmala, while terpenoids and phenolics occurred inP. harmala. Group tests revealed that the methanolic and n-hexane extract ofF. cretica, P. harmala, T. terrestris, C. tinctoriaandR. communishad OH, carboxylic and phenolic groups. The methanolic and n-hexane extracts ofF. cretica, P. harmala, T. terrestris, C. tinctoriaandR. communisshowed the absence of aldehyde and ketone group. The ability of the methanolic and n-hexane extracts ofF. cretica,P. harmala, T. terrestris, C. tinctoriaandR. communisto inhibit the growth of different bacteria has shown their broad spectrum antibacterial potential, which may be used in the management of microbial infections.
