【 摘 要 】

This policy note, EnvironmentalManagement for a Sustainable Economic Development Strategyfor Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, investigates six environmentalmanagement topics which will affect the capacity of theprovince to develop the economy and need to be underpinnedby strong environmental and natural resource management. Thesix topics cover: agriculture, forestry, fisheries, land andwater, environmental law and regulations, and spatialplanning.Each topic provides the context for and somebackground on the sector, key issues facing the managementof the sector, potential sustainable developmentopportunities and initiatives and recommendations on actionsto improve the development and management of the sector. Thepolicy note includes a framework to develop nine elements ofan enabling environment that would support the developmentof the province's natural resources, as well as a setof specific recommendations and initiatives.
