【 摘 要 】
In the spring of 2012, the RoyalMonetary Authority of Bhutan and the World Bank commissioneda diagnostic assessment of financial practices andstrategies among urban and rural Bhutanese. The resultingsurvey, the Bhutan financial inclusion focus group survey,represents one of the first efforts to capture householdfinancial management practices in the country. Theassessment, undertaken at the request of a governmentworking group led by the Royal Monetary Authority, wasdesigned to inform Bhutan's Financial Inclusion Policyby providing information about households' use of anddemand for financial services. Since the research mainlycaptures the perspectives of Bhutanese households, thisreport does not present recommendations. Instead, itsfindings from the field research provide qualitativeevidence that has informed the financial inclusion policy byhighlighting opportunities and challenges in increasingfinancial inclusion.
