【 摘 要 】

Using a rich data set of almost theentire population of Ukrainian secondary schools, theauthors estimate the effect of school size and class size onthe performance of secondary schools on Ukraine'sExternal Independent Test. They find that larger schoolstend to have somewhat better performance, both in terms oftest scores and in terms of test participation. The size ofthis effect is relatively small, however, especially inrural areas for which the estimates are likely to be moreclean estimates. Class size is found to be insignificant inmost specifications and, if significant, of negligible size.
