The note outlines the lessons learnedafter a decade of experience with social funds, publicworks, and employment operations in Sub-Saharan Africa, andillustrates that a variety of models, and institutionalstructures exist within this sample of operations. It alsoreflects that projects need to be designed according tocountry contexts, political realities, and geographical considerations.
