【 摘 要 】
The authors present a dynamic,quantitative macroeconomic framework designed for analyzingthe impact of adjustment policies and exogenous shocks onpoverty and income distribution. They emphasize the role oflabor market segmentation, urban informal activities, theimpact of the composition of public expenditure on supplyand demand, and credit market imperfections. Numericalsimulations for a prototype low-income country highlight theimportance of accounting for the various channels throughwhich poverty alleviation programs and debt relief mayultimately affect the poor.
