【 摘 要 】
The book describes why expanding trade, and investment is vital for the Middle East and North Africaregion. The greatest economic challenge is to create enoughjobs for its rapidly growing labor force, which isincreasingly young, and educated, to ward off threats tosocial, and political stability, inherent in highunemployment rates. This effort requires higher, and moresustainable, economic growth than has been achieved in thepast two decades. Expanding trade, and private investmentoffers the best hope. The potential is enormous, given theregion's human resources, skills, location, andopportunities. The book also analyzes why the region has yetto tap fully into the rich stream of global commerce, andinvestment - and the measures needed to do so, includingimprovements in the domestic investment climate, and reformsin the policies of the region's trading partners.
