【 摘 要 】
This issue of the MENA quarterly briefassesses the macroeconomic performance of seven of the MENAcountries: Egypt, Tunisia, Iran, Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen andLibya. All of these countries experienced rapid economicgrowth during 2000-10, and suffered a sharp economicslowdown in the aftermath of 2011. The brief focuses on thechallenges facing these countries with a closer look at theactual growth performance in comparison with their forecastsand highlights the limitations of forecasting in the wake ofthe 2011 uprisings; and at the consequences of the growthslowdown, including unemployment, where perceptions maydiverge from reality. The story is told in fourteen charts.
