【 摘 要 】

This report is part of an ongoing studyof the measurement of foreign direct investment (FDI) in theinformation and communication technology (ICT) sector ofEgypt's economy.This report forms part of the secondamendment to a reimbursable technical assistance (RTA)program delivered by the Global Information andCommunication Technology (GICT) department of the World Bankto the Information Centre of the Ministry of Communicationand Information Technology (MCIT-IC) of the government ofEgypt. This report outlines the results of a severalvisits to the region, a survey conducted, and methods ofdata collection.The objectives were: to analyze the newresults of the FDI questionnaire and make recommendations torefine the methodology and sampling framework; to generatean estimate of the true level of FDI in Egypt's ICTsector, and to continue work towards establishing an ongoingprocess for the regular data collection and reporting of FDIdata by providing training and relevant tools, incollaboration with relevant ministries and other institutions.
