【 摘 要 】

This paper summarizes the socioeconomicconditions of children around the world. It exploressolutions to the main problems, along with a summary of thecosts and benefits of some of the solutions. Emphasis is onthe results from rigorous studies, impact evaluations, andrandomized experiments. Although the cost-evidenceliterature is scarce, a good case for early interventionsand key quality-enhancing education interventions exists.
