【 摘 要 】
One of the key features of the Dutcheducation system is freedom of education -- freedom toestablish schools and organize teaching.Almost 70 percentof schools in the Netherlands are administered by privateschool boards, and all schools are government fundedequally. This allows school choice. Using an instrument toidentify school choice, it is shown that the Dutch systempromotes academic performance. The instrumental variablesresults show that private school attendance is associatedwith higher test scores. Private school size effects inmath, reading, and science achievement are 0.17, 0.28, and 0.18.【 预 览 】
