This short country report, a result oflarger Information for Development Program (infoDev) -supported survey of the Information and CommunicationTechnologies (ICT) in education in Africa, provides ageneral overview of current activities and issues related toICT use in education in the country. The Gambia has seentremendous developments in ICTs over the past few years.Progress has been made in telecommunications, yet the fullimpact of ICTs in the education sector is still yet to berealized and a draft policy is yet to be finalized. In thoseareas where progress has been made, the role ofNon-governmental Organizations (NGOs) has been a key.
