【 摘 要 】
There is an increasingly stronger demandfor more frequent and accurate poverty estimates, despitethe oftentimes unavailable household consumption data. Thispaper offers a review of alternative imputation methods thathave been employed to provide poverty estimates in suchcontexts. These range from estimates on a nonmonetary basis, estimates for specific project targeting or tracking trendsat the national level, to estimates at a more disaggregatedlevel, as well as estimates of poverty dynamics. The paperprovides a concise and accessible synthesis, which serves asan introduction to the literature. The focus is on intuitionand practical insights that highlight the nuanceddifferences between the existing methods rather thantechnical aspects.
