Evidence on the impacts of many teacherpolicies remains insufficient and scattered, the impact ofmany reforms depends on specific design features, andteacher policies can have very different impacts dependingon the context and other education policies already inplace. Systems approach for better education results (SABER)teachers aims to help fill the gap by collecting, analyzing, synthesizing, and disseminating comprehensive information onteacher policies in primary and secondary education systemsaround the world. SABER-teachers is a core component ofSABER, an initiative of the World Bank education globalpractice. SABER-teachers collects data on ten core areas ofteacher policy to offer a comprehensive descriptive overviewof the policies in place in each participating educationsystem. To offer informed policy guidance, SABER-teachersprovides an analysis of these data to assess how well eachsystem’s teacher policies promote student achievement basedon the global evidence to date. By classifying countriesbased on their performance in each of the eight teacherpolicy goals, SABER-teachers provides a diagnosis. Thisreport presents the results of the SABER-teachers tool asapplied in Slovenia.
