【 摘 要 】
This article: a) summarizes the costs ofcurrent merchandise trade distortions to developing andother economies; b) examines some scenarios that mightemerge as part of an eventual Doha agreement consistent withthe 2005 Hong Kong Ministerial declaration, particularlywith respect to agriculture; and c) draws implications forthe strategies developing countries might adopt in the WorldTrade Organization's (WTO's) Doha round ofmultilateral trade negotiations. This article estimates whatthe world economy might look like in 2015 without and with asuccessful conclusion to the Doha round, how far Doha couldtake the world toward an outcome with no distortions inmerchandise trade, and what contribution various elements ofa Doha package could make.
