The infrastructure financing gap remainsa critical global challenge for sustainable development. Newthinking and innovative financial models are needed in orderto mobilize more private capital to infrastructureinvestments. International Finance Corporation’s (IFC’s) newmanaged co-lending portfolio program for infrastructureseeks to address numerous infrastructure financingchallenges that inhibit the flow of resources to emergingmarkets. The program provides an innovative model formobilizing financing for infrastructure projects thatcombines financing from insurance companies, projectorigination and credit enhancement from IFC, and supportfrom public sector donors.
