【 摘 要 】

This note provides guidance on how toassist people from surrounding areas in gaining formalemployment at the investment. Formal employment is a majorexpected benefit of agricultural investments. Yet investorsexperience difficulties in employing people from surroundingareasdue to gaps in skills and education. The inclusion oflocal people in the formal workforce is a key element ofpartnerships between local communities and investors. Thisinclusion can be facilitated by dedicated training programsand strategies to improve integration.
