【 摘 要 】
Anxiety is defined as stress, nervousness, anxiety caused by the activation of the autonomic nervous system as an answer to the body in the event of an impending threat or danger. Dental treatments cause anxiety in varying amounts and among these treatments oral surgery procedures are usually those that cause high anxiety. Dental implant surgery is one of the most common oral surgery procedures performed today and is widely practiced. It is expected that the surgeon will experience less stress and anxiety in patients because it is a relatively easy procedure for surgeons. However, existing information suggests that implant placement is associated with high anxiety which is closely related to anticipated, experienced, and remembered pain. Questionnaires and scales are frequently used in the evaluation of anxiety. With these methods, both dental anxiety and state and trate anxiety can be evaluated. In our study, it was aimed to determine the severity and frequency of anxiety related to implant surgery in patients. In anxiety evaluations related to implant surgery, anxiety appears to be high before surgery and anxiety is generally higher in women than in men. Implant surgery is not a mandatory procedure but depends on the patient's wishes and preferences. Since a current treatment option is frequently used today, monitoring a protocol that minimizes the anxiety of the individual before the implant surgery will bring the patient's compliance to the highest level. This is important for the success of the procedure, patient-physician satisfaction and relationship.
