【 摘 要 】
The paperdescribes the principles underlying situated cognition linked to theVygotskian sociocultural perspective, which state that situatedcognition is both a part and the result of activity, context andculture. It highlights the importance of mediation, the jointconstruction of meaning and the mechanism of adapted assistance. Thereare examples of instructional approaches which vary in culturalrelevance and the type of social activity they elicit. It also presents anumber of meaningful learning strategies based on situated experientialteaching (authentic problem solving, learning while in service, casestudies, projects, situated simulation, among others). Finally, thepaper deals with the potentiality of empowerment.
