【 摘 要 】
Embedded piezoresistive microcantilever (EPM) sensors provide a simple, low-cost platform for the detection of numerous analytes. In general, EPM sensors are small, require only simple support electronics, are highly resistant to movement and vibration, and therefore are good candidates for deployment as small, battery powered units in a wireless sensor network. Here, we describe the circuitry involved in interfacing EPM sensors to commercial wireless “motes”, which form a hopping, self-healing mesh network. Preliminary data is presented from motes deployed in the detection of hydrogen cyanide (HCN) gas.
