【 摘 要 】

In the Don Quixote of 1615 Cervantes modifies and refines the narrative model from 1605 in reaction to reader criticism and the publication of Avellaneda’s Don Quixote. From this revision arises a model of a worldview, an instrument of knowledge of the human experience, that we would later call the «modern novel». Cervantes’ ability to reconstruct the balance of the narrative system after the double trauma it underwent is analysed in this paper, in light of the concept of resilience and other related concepts within the theory of complex systems.
