【 摘 要 】
Inthiswork,anopticalgainaround1dBofanedgeemittinglaser(EEL)hasbeenobtainedapplyingthresholdcurrentof22mA.Theconventionaldevicelasedataround1.3µmwith0.3nmstripewidthatroomtemperature.Thedevicewasalsocharacterisedthroughoutputlight-voltage-currentusingcurrent-temperature(I-T)controllersandopticalspectrumanalyser(OSA).ConventionalEELisactuallyaformofsemiconductorlasersthatpropagatesthelightinadirectionalongthewafersurfaceoflaserchipandtheiremittedlightisreflectedatacleavededge.Thecleavedfacetsofthedeviceactsasmirrors,reflectingphotonsbackintotheresonatorandthestimulatedemissionoccurswithincavityregionforgainachievement.
