【 摘 要 】
In order to determine the correlation and relationship between the grain yield and other important traits in 24 genotypes of barley, an experiment was conducted in Dry Land Research Station of Shirvan. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with three replications. The evaluated traits were grain yield, days to emergence, days to heading, days to maturity, plant height, plant coverage percentage, number of spike per square meter, number of seeds per spike and 1000-kernel weight. Genotype correlation coefficient and path analysis were used to analyze the data. The results showed the significant direct influence of days to heading, spike per square meter, seeds per spike and 1000-kernel weight on grain yield; however each of these traits had negative indirect effects through other traits on yield which leads to reduction of correlation coefficient with grain yield. Plant height and plants cover percentage have no significant direct effect on grain yield. According to the results of this experiment, the number of seed per spike and the 1000-kernel weight are the most important traits in barley selection in dry land condition.
