【 摘 要 】
The objective of study of the impacts ofclimate change on mountain hydrology is to develop amethodology to assess the net impacts of climate change onthe hydrological response in mountainous regions. This isdone through a case study in the Peruvian Andes. There arefew examples of predictions of the impact of climate changeon resource availability and even fewer examples of theapplications of such predictions to planning for sustainableeconomic development. This report presents a summary of theefforts of a Bank energy and climate change team to developmethodological tools for the assessment of climate impactson surface hydrology in the Peruvian Andes. The importanceof analyzing the potential climate impacts on hydrology inPeru arises in part from concerns about the retreat oftropical glaciers, the drying of unique Andean wetlandecosystems, as well as increased weather variability andweather extremes, all of which will affect water regulation. The study, together with a recently published report by theWorld Bank, Peru Overcoming the Barriers to Hydropower, isintended to inform plans for energy development in Peru andenable provides some insights into how hydrology may behaveunder future climate scenarios in Peru, the main purpose isto contribute to the methodological approaches to anticipateimpacts from climate change in the Andes Region and othermountain ranges
