【 摘 要 】
The purpose of this book is to provideinformation about what works -- specifically, thecost-effectiveness of health interventions in a variety ofsettings. Such information should influence the redesign ofprograms and the reallocation of resources, thereby helpingto achieve the ultimate goal of reducing morbidity andmortality. As was the case with the first edition, thissecond edition of Disease Control Priorities in DevelopingCountries will serve an array of audiences. This secondedition of Disease Control Priorities in DevelopingCountries (DCP2) seeks to update and improve guidance on thewhat-to-do questions in DCP1 and to address theinstitutional, organizational, financial, and researchcapacities essential for health systems to deliver the rightinterventions. DCP2 is the principal product of the DiseaseControl Priorities Project, an alliance of organizationsdesigned to review, generate, and disseminate information onhow to improve population health in developing countries. Inaddition to DCP2, the project produced numerous backgroundpapers, an extensive range of interactive consultations heldaround the world, and several additional major publications.
