Tanzania's National Strategy forGrowth and Reduction of Poverty (NSGRP) sets an ambitioustarget of 6 to 8 percent annual economic growth to achieverapid reduction in poverty. This report focuses on threeissues that are central to the success of Tanzania'spoverty reduction efforts: 0 what factors explainTanzania's recent acceleration in economic growth; hasthe accelerated economic growth translated into reducedpoverty; and what must be done to sustain economic growththat is pro-poor. The report presents evidence from themacroeconomic, sectoral, and firm and household levels thatshed light on these questions. The report is presented intwo volumes.
