This annual conference is a globalgathering of the world's leading scholars andpractitioners. Among the attendees are participants fromdeveloping countries, think tanks, NGOs, and internationalinstitutions. The papers included in this book concernissues such as: inequality and growth in transition; tradeliberalization, inequality and poverty in Latin America andthe Caribbean; can economic policy overcome geographicdisadvantage in Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth ofIndependent States; and patterns of spatial convergence anddivergence in India and China.
