【 摘 要 】

The purpose of this report is to providedecision makers in Colombia (and by extension othercountries or regions), who are considering the deployment orconsolidation of wind power, with a set of options topromote its use. The options presented are the result of ananalysis of the Colombian market; this analysis includedsimulations and modeling of the country's power sector,and extensive consultations with operators, managers, andagents. More information on the analysis and simulations ispresented in the appendixes. Wind was chosen to exemplifythe range of renewable energy alternatives available tocomplement traditional power sector technologies on thebasis of its technical maturity, its relatively low costcompared to other options, the country's experience,and its wind power potential. This report constitutes thesecond phase of a barrier analysis to wind energy in Colombia.
