【 摘 要 】
This study assesses key issues andrecommendations for development, and reviews the specificchanges which are necessary in four areas: structuralreforms, market institutions, and infrastructure;accounting, transparency, and disclosure; marketinfrastructure; and credit enhancements. With only threeyears remaining before joining the European Union, Romaniais working hard to improve its capital markets and non-bankfinancial institutions, which remain less developed thanthose in other accession countries. Strengthening thesesectors has become a top priority for policymakers, whoseprimary objective is to ensure that the financial system issufficiently developed to serve the growing demands of theRomanian economy.
