【 摘 要 】
Burkina Faso has the second highestHIV/AIDS infection rates in West Africa, with an overall HIVprevalence rate of around 7.2 percent. A large number ofdevelopment agencies are active in the fight againstHIV/AIDS. An innovative community driven scheme to theepidemic was piloted under a recently completed Bank projectand is now being replicated under a follow up HIV/AIDSDisaster Response Project. This brief describes the designof this pilot scheme both in terms of process and content;presents preliminary results; and identifies key lessons andfuture challenges.
