The development of industrial relationsin different countries, can be essential in their efforts tobalance competitiveness, with equitable wages, and improvedworking conditions. Consequently, a well-functioning labormarket is essential for solid economic performance, as wellas future economic growth, and, for the well-being ofworkers, and their families. And, the effects ofglobalization on workers, on firms, and on macroeconomicperformance, relate critically to labor institutions suchas, trade unions, and dispute resolution mechanisms."Unions and Collective Bargaining" is acomprehensive, reference book which evaluates the economiceffects of unions, and collective bargaining. This bookprovides a detailed survey, and synthesis of the economicliterature on trade unions, and collective bargaining, andtheir impact on micro- and macroeconomic outcomes. It showsthe effects of collective bargaining in different countrysettings and time periods.
