The Little Data Book (LDB) 2007 is apocket edition of World Development Indicators (WDI) 2007.It is intended as a quick reference for users of the WDI2007 book and CD-ROM and WDI online, electronic subscriptiondatabase. Together, they cover more than 800 indicators andspan 40 years. The 208 pages of country tables in the LDBpresent the latest available data for World Bank membercountries and other economies with populations of more than30,000. The 14 summary pages cover aggregate data forregional and income groups. The data in this book are for1990, 2000, and 2005 or the most recent year unlessotherwise noted in the glossary: i) growth rates areproportional changes from the previous year unless otherwisenoted; ii) regional aggregates include data for low- andmiddle-income economies only; and iii) figures in italicsindicate data for years or periods other than thosespecified. Data are shown for economies with populationsgreater than 30,000 or for smaller economies if they aremembers of the World Bank. The term country (usedinterchangeably with economy) does not imply politicalindependence or official recognition by the World Bank butrefers to any economy for which the authorities reportseparate social or economic statistics.
