The Little Data Book 2004 is a pocketedition of World Development Indicators, covering more than600 indicators, and spanning 40 years. The 207 country-pagesin The Little Data Book present the latest available datafor Bank member countries, and other economies withpopulations of more than 30,000, and, the 14 summary-pagescover regional, and income group aggregates. The data inthis book are for 1990, 2001, and 2002, or the most recentyear for which data are available, unless otherwise noted inthe glossary. 1) Growth rates are proportional changes fromthe previous year, unless otherwise noted; 2) Regionalaggregates include data for low- and middle-income economiesonly; 3) Figures in italics indicate data for years, orperiods other than those specified. Like World DevelopmentIndicators 2004, this edition of The Little Data Book usesterminology in line with the 1993 System of NationalAccounts (SNA). In particular, gross national product (GNP)is replaced by gross national income (GNI). Since 2003, theselection of indicators in these pages has been updated toinclude some of those being used to monitor progress towardthe Millennium Development Goals.
