【 摘 要 】

Introducing independent power producers(IPPs) into a power system where existing generators areinefficient can deliver more efficient investment. But it isnot sufficient to achieve the operating benefits ofcompetition. Key to determining whether or not the IPPs andthe system as a whole will operate efficiently are the powerand energy sales contracts with the IPPs. The author surveysa range of power purchase agreements and highlights theirrisks and benefits for operational efficiency.
