South Asia has one of the fastestgrowing economies in the world, yet it is also home to thelargest concentration of people living in debilitatingpoverty. How do the two coexist?The paradox of South Asiais that growth has been instrument in the reducing povertyrates, but poverty rates have not fallen fast enough toreduce the total number of poor people, and their remainhuge room for improvement in education, health, andwomen's economic participation.
