This paper studies the impact of acomprehensive financial education program spanning sixstates, 868 schools, and approximately 20,000 high schoolstudents in Brazil through a randomized control trial. Theprogram increased student financial knowledge by a quarterof a standard deviation and led to a 1.4 percentage pointincrease in saving for purchases, better likelihood offinancial planning, and greater participation in householdfinancial decisions by students. "Trickle-up"impacts on parents were also significant, with improvementsin parent financial knowledge, savings, and spendingbehavior.
