【 摘 要 】
The book examines five ways throughwhich public-private contracts can help countries meeteducation goals. First, public-private partnerships canincrease access to good quality education for all,especially for poor children who live in remote, underservedcommunities and for children in minority populations.Second, lessons for innovative means of financing educationcan be particularly helpful in post-conflict countriesundergoing reconstruction. Third, lessons about what worksin terms of public-private partnerships contribute to thedevelopment of a more differentiated business modelespecially for middle-income countries. Fourth, thechallenge of meeting the education Millennium DevelopmentGoals in less than a decade is a daunting one in the poorestcountries. Understanding new partnership arrangements withina broad international aid architecture in education can helpbring us closer to those goals. Fifth, some very innovativepublic-private partnership arrangements are happening inArab countries, and lessons can be drawn from their experience.
