The Nigerian Economic Report (NER) isa regular publication of the World Bank. Each edition of theNER includes a macroeconomic overview and gives specialattention to an additional topic of high policy relevance. In addition to macroeconomic performance, this edition ofthe NER focuses on recent releases of new statisticalinformation. First, newly re-based Gross Domestic Productfigures indicate a larger, more diversified, and complexeconomy in Nigeria than was hitherto reported, withsignificant contributions to growth coming frommanufacturing and some services not captured in previousdata. Second, Chapter 2 provides an analysis of recent NBSGHS household survey data, which supports the hypothesisthat the larger NBS HNLSS survey of 2009/2010 may haveunderestimated consumption.
