【 摘 要 】

This report translates the Bank'scorporate commitment into increased efforts to controlmalaria. It lays the basis for a Booster Program for MalariaControl, through which the Bank will make an importantcontribution to malaria control in the years ahead. Thiseffort will be undertaken in support of country-ledprograms, and in partnership with community serviceorganizations, specialized agencies, and financiers ofmalaria control at all levels. Consistent with the newGlobal Strategic Plan of the Roll Back Malaria Partnership,the Bank's work will combine measures to increasecoverage of malaria-specific interventions with effectiveservice delivery, broader health-system development, andcapacity building across multiple sectors. The new businessmodel combines an emphasis on outcomes with flexibility inapproaches. Products and services related to malaria controlwill be tailored to client segments, in order to meet theneeds of countries, and deploy the Bank's comparativeadvantages, while strengthening collaboration with partneragencies, co-financiers, and civil society. In the short tomedium term, the new Booster Program for Malaria Controlwill provide increased financing, and technical support toaccelerate program design and implementation, increasecoverage, and improve outcomes rapidly. Henceforth, malariacontrol will be mainstreamed into the Poverty ReductionStrategies, and large sector-development programs thatemphasize outcomes.
