This note offers a process-orientedguide to strengthening demand-side governance approaches inWorld Bank projects with a step-by-step approach fordetermining how demand for good governance (DFGG) tools andapproaches can be applied to different types of Bank-fundedprojects. The objective of this note is to help task teamsanticipate demand-side governance considerations early inthe project preparation process, identify potential entrypoints for introducing DFGG tools to address theseconsiderations, provide guidance on selecting DFGG toolswhich will improve governance, transparency and servicedelivery,assist borrowers to introduce DFGG tools in Bankprojects, and to measure their impact.The core guidance ispresented in the form of a simple five-step process fordetermining activity in a given project context. The annexescontain a glossary of DFGG tools, checklists, website linksand other resources for task teams that will assist them inintroducing and deepening DFGG work in Bank projects.
