【 摘 要 】

This guide presents a range ofnon-monetary award programs to recognize performanceimprovements in government programs, initiatives, andagencies. Nine award programs are drawn from Canada,Ireland, Abu Dhabi, the Philippines, the United States andJordan. Each of the programs are analyzed along thefollowing dimensions: objectives, target applicants, awardcategories, selection criteria, participation, selectionprocess, type of reward, year of establishment, and numberof awards given per year. Individual program details alongthese dimensions are available. The first section presentsthe theoretical background on how non-monetary awardprograms function, their expected benefits, and guidingprinciples to harness the potential benefits of such aprogram. The second section highlights the findings from theanalysis of the nine programs along the key dimensions.
