【 摘 要 】

The Ombudsman Bureau in Jordan wasestablished in 2008. It was created to provide an avenue forredress by citizens for complaints against public sectorbodies - part of the Government s drive to improve thepublic sector. Such a body is important in providing checksand balances in a government dominated by a strong executivebranch. It also provides an alternative process of disputeresolution to filing cases in courts, thus relievingpressure on the court system and providing a means ofredress that may prove more accessible than the courts forcertain categories of disputes.
