【 摘 要 】
This paper investigates whether thePesticides Initiative Program has significantly affected theexport performance of Senegal' shorticulture industry. The authors apply two main microeconometric techniques,difference-in-differences and matchingdifference-in-differences, to identify the effect of thePesticides Initiative Program on exports of fresh fruits andvegetables. They use a unique firm-level dataset containingdata on sales, employment, and exports by product anddestination markets, as well as firm enrolment year, over2000-2008. The results suggest that wile the program had nosignificant effect on exports pooled over all products anddestinations, it had a positive effect when consideringfresh fruits and vegetables exports to the European Union.
