When designing and implementing aproject in a conflict-affected country, some of theconflict's more obvious impacts-damage toinfrastructure and energy supplies, are apt to immediatelycome to mind. However, based on the experiences with theKosovo privatization program, there are additional problemsrelated to a conflict's aftermath that may beoverlooked during a project's design but which shouldbe addressed, and these form the basis for this smart lesson paper.
